Glimpses of South India tour let you cover the most magnificent places of south India. Places are Chennai, Mysore, Ooty, Cochin, Kumarakom and many more. In this tour you will get to know about the architecture of South India and where you can enjoy sunset and sunrise view at beach along with boat ride.
Day 1: Chennai arrival
After arriving Chennai you will be escorted to the hotel by our representatives. Check into the hotel and relax. In the evening explore the streets and try out some cuisines. Stay overnight.
Day 2: Chennai - Mysore (484 km)
In the morning visit will be at beaches and temples where you can enjoy leisure walk at the coastline and boat ride. Visit Marina Beach, Fort St. George which was built by British East India Company, Valluvar Kottam Temple, Government museum which is considered to be the oldest museum in India and represents the history, art and culture of India. Later on, the tour will proceed towards Mysore where you will come across architectural styles of Rajput, Hindu, Islamic and Gothic elements. The city is famous for its trade in silk and sandalwood. Night stay will be in Mysore.
Day 3: Mysore
Post breakfast the tour will continue. Visit Mysore Palace where you will be mesmerized seeing beauty of it, Karanji Lake which is home to many species of birds, Chamundi Hills on the top of which there is Chamundeshwari Temple with the idol of bull called Nandi. Later on visit Mysore zoo, Brindavan Gardens and St. Philomena’s church. Return to the hotel and enjoy your dinner.
Day 4: Mysore - Ooty (125 km)
After having your breakfast the tour will head towards Ooty which is a hill station. You will be mesmerized by seeing beauty of it. Visit Botanical Garden which is a great place for photographers, Rose Garden where you will come across more than 20,000 species of roses, Ooty Lake, St. Stephen church, Pykara waterfalls which is great place for adventurous people and to enjoy boat rides, avalanche Lake and Emerald Lake. Stay overnight.
Day 5: Ooty - Cochin (299 km)
Post breakfast proceed towards Cochin. Check into the hotel and relax. Explore the streets as the rest of the day is free for your enjoyment. Stay overnight.
Day 6: Cochin
After having lavishing breakfast you will visit Mattancherry Palace also known as Dutch palace which was built by Portuguese, Indo-Portuguese Museum which reflects Indian and Portuguese culture, Paradesi Synagogue which is a Jewish church and one of the beautiful church in Cochin. Later visit harbor and get to know about Chinese Fishing net and enjoy boat ride. Return to the hotel and stay overnight.
Day 7: Cochin - Kumarakom (48 km)
Next destination of the tour will be Kumarakom where you will be going. Visit Arruvikkuzhi waterfall which is an ideal picnic spot with cold breeze and spray of cold water, Kumarakom Bird Sanctuary which is a habitat to many birds and enjoy boat ride there. Return to the hotel and enjoy your dinner.
Day 8: Kumarakom - Trichurapalli (364 km)
Post breakfast head towards Trichurapalli. Upon reaching there visit Rock Fort Temple, Sri Ranganathaswamy Temple which is dedicated to Lord Vishnu and is one of the major Hindu Temple. Next visit will be at Jambukeshwara Temple, which is built in Dravidian architecture style and Kallani Dam. Stay overnight.
Day 9: Trichurapalli - Tanjore (57 km)
After having your breakfast the tour will continue towards Tanjore also known as “Rice bowl of India”. Visit Brahadeeswara Temple which is a great reflection of south Indian temple architecture and is dedicated to Lord Shiva, Airavateshwara Temple, Gangaikonda Temple which is a beautiful temperature of carving and is declared as the world heritage site by UNESCO. After having a spiritual day, return to the hotel and enjoy your dinner.
Day 10: Tanjore - Mahabalipuram (302 km)
Next destination of the tour will be Mahabalipuram which is known for its Temples and monuments which were built by Pallava dynasty. Check into the hotel and the rest day is at your leisure.
Day 11: Mahabalipuram
After having refreshing breakfast the tour will continue. Visit Mahabalipuram beach, Shore Temple which is made of granite chunks, Five Rathas which are great example of Dravidian architecture, Arjuna’s Penance where the carvings on the rock is amazing. Visit Cave Temple where the eight temples are carved out from the cave and later in the day proceed for crocodile bank. Return to the hotel and stay overnight.
Day 12: Mahabalipuram - Chennai (55 km)
Post breakfast you will be departing to Chennai for your further journey.
