Southern India Wildlife Tour takes you to the amazing places of South India where you will explore the wildlife. This tour is perfect for wildlife photography lovers and wildlife lovers. You will witness many wildlife species in many National Parks like Eravikulam National Park, Periyar Wildlife Sanctuary, Bandipur National Park. You will enjoy Houseboat at Alleppey and boat ride in Periyar.
Day 1: Bangalore arrival
After your arrival at airport you will be greeted by team representatives. They will guide you to your pre-booked hotel. Stay overnight.
Day 2: Bangalore – Mysore (125 km)
After breakfast the tour will head towards Mysore. Here you will see blend of Islamic, Rajput, Hindu and Gothic architecture in the historic site and palaces. It is also home to Sandalwood, spices and silk. Check into the hotel and relax for a while after that Mysore sightseeing will begin. Visit Mysore Palace which was once a royal residence, Karanji Lake which is a beautiful place to visit and where you will see many migratory birds as well, Mysore Zoo which is home to many animals from all around the world. Next pay a visit at Brindavan Gardens, Shivanasamudra Falls and Somnathpur Temple. Return to the hotel at night and enjoy your dinner.
Day 3: Mysore – Ranganathittu – Mysore (18 km)
Post breakfast head towards Ranganathittu where you will visit Ranganathittu Bird Sanctuary also known as “Pakshi Kashi of Karnataka”. It comprises six small islands on the bank of river Kaveri. You will see Painted Stroke, Asian open bill Stroke, Common Spoonbill, Black-headed ibis, Indian Shag and many more species. It is covered in green lush broad leaf forests with Arjun tree and bamboo groves. Return back to Mysore and stay overnight.
Day 4: Mysore – Srirangapatnam – Nagarhole (89 km)
After having your breakfast you will be transferred to Nagarhole. En-route Srirangapatnam visiting Sri Ranganathaswamy Temple, Dariya Daulat Palace, Tipu’s Death Place, Srirangapatnam fort and Nimishamba Temple. Continue your drive towards Nagarhole. Check into the hotel and relax.
Day 5: Nagarhole
Post breakfast you will visit Nagarhole National Park which is covered with hills, waterfall, forests and streams. It is rich in flora and faunas. Flora includes many trees like Teak, Rosewood, Sandalwood and many more trees. Fauna includes many Mammals, Birds, Reptiles and Insects. You will witness animals like Tigers, Leopard, Striped Hyenas, chital and many more. After enjoying jeep safari at National park, return to the hotel and stay overnight.
Day 6: Nagarhole – Bandipur (127 km)
After having your breakfast, the tour will head towards Bandipur where you will visit Bandipur National Park. Spend the rest of the day at your leisure. Night stay will be in Bandipur.
Day 7: Bandipur National Park
Post breakfast pay a visit at Bandipur National Park which is located where Deccan Plateau meets Western Ghats and where you will come across wide variety of Floras like Teak, Sandalwood, Satinwood, Rosewood and many more. It is covered by rivers on both sides, Kabini River in North and Moyar River in South. You will also witness many endangered species like Indian Elephants, Tigers, Sloth bears, Muggers, Indian Rock Pythons, Jackals and other. After enjoying wildlife safari return to the hotel and relax.
Day 8: Bandipur – Ooty (80 km)
After enjoying wildlife safari at Bandipur the tour will head towards Ooty. Visit will be at Botanical Gardens where you can enjoy a long walk and it’s a great place for photographers. Next visit will be at Doddabetta Peak which offers you a beautiful view, Government Rose Garden which lies on slope of Elk Hill and where you will come across wide variety of roses, Ooty Lake where you can enjoy boat ride. Next visit will be at Madumalai National Park which is home to many wildlife and bird species, St. Stephens church and Deer Park. After having and spell casting view, return to the hotel and enjoy your dinner.
Day 9: Ooty – Munnar (242 km)
Post breakfast the tour will head towards Munnar which was a hill station for British Raj surrounded by lush green forests and tea plantation. Visit Atukkad Dam where you can enjoy a pleasant weather, Echo point which is a great place for camping and photography. Next pay a visit at Matttupetty Dam which is built on Mattupetty Lake and from where the water reaches to many wildlife species and Top Station from where one can enjoy amazing view and capture them to make the tour memorable. Return to the hotel and relax.
Day 10: Munnar – Eravikulam National Park – Munnar (15 km)
The next tour place will be Eravikulam National Park which is home to many endangered and rare species like Tiger, Leopard, Nilgiri Tahr, Golden Jackal, Sambar Deer and many more. It is world heritage site declared by UNESCO. It is rich in wide range of floras and faunas. After enjoying wildlife safari at Eravikulam National Park, return to the hotel and enjoy your dinner.
Day 11: Munnar – Periyar (96 km)
Post breakfast you will head towards Periyar. Check into the hotel and relax. Spend the rest of the day enjoying or exploring streets. Stay overnight.
Day 12: Periyar Wildlife Sanctuary
After having your breakfast visit will be at Periyar Wildlife Sanctuary also known as Tiger Reserve. It is surrounded by forests and is home to many wildlife species. It is a great place for wildlife lovers and photographers as it provides an amazing view from boat ride. Visit Mangala Devi Temple, which is located in the Reserve and is covered by dense forests. Next visit Spice Garden, Periyar Lake and go through Tea Plantation. Return to the hotel and enjoy your dinner.
Day 13: Periyar – Alleppey (127 km)
Post breakfast the tour will head towards Alleppey also known as “Venice of East”. Upon reaching there visit Alleppey Beach where the shores touches your foot and gives you a soothing experience, Marari Beach where you can take a ayurvedic spa or massage. Then check into the houseboat which has all the facilities like hotel and enjoy the view covered by forests very close to you. Night stay will be in Houseboat.
Day 14: Alleppey – Kumarakom (32 km)
The house boat departs you at Kumarakom. From there you will be checking into the hotel. After that Kumarakom sightseeing will begin. Visit Kumarakom Bird Sanctuary which is situated on Vembanad Lake and is home to many marine creatures like Water duck, Wood Pecker, Kingfisher, Owl as well as it attracts many migratory birds like Siberian Crane, Teal and many more. Next visit will be at Arruvikkuzhi Waterfalls, Kumarakom Beach, Juma Masjid and Kumarakom Backwaters. Return to the hotel after enjoying boat ride and seeing amazing sunset at Beach. Stay overnight.
Day 15: Kumarakom – Cochin (48 km)
After having your breakfast you will be visiting Dutch Palace popularly known as Mattancherry Palace and is fusion of Indian and European architectural style, Fort Kochi which was made under influence of Portuguese, British and Dutch architecture style. Next pay a visit at Bolgatty Palace, Willingdon Island, Jewish Synagogue and St. Francis Church. Enjoy evening at harbor and enjoy boat ride and even get to know about the Chinese fishing net. Return to the hotel and enjoy your dinner.
Day 16: Departure
Post breakfast you will be guided to the airport where our members will give you detailed information for you further journey flights.
